Residential mitigation

Indoor systems

In most cases, PVC pipe runs through out-of-sight areas such as closets and plumbing chases to a roof vent, with a radon fan inside the pipe.

Outdoor systems

When indoor isn’t practical, the pipe runs through an exterior wall and up the side of the house (e.g. alongside a chimney), with a fan and weatherproof electrical connection.
